Welcome & Boarding – AIGUES-MORTES

Saturday or Tuesday

Around 5 pm, we welcome you on board the MAM GOZ which is moored in the ancient commercial harbour of Aigues-Mortes. Nesttled in front of the ramparts and the famous Tower of Constance. After you settle in, you can rest on board or visit the city built by King Saint Louis at the end of the 13th century. You can also cycle to the beach of Le Grau-du-Roi, about 6 km from Mam Goz’s mooring or towards the marshes and visit the tower Carbonnière planted in the middle of the swamps of Petite Camargue. At the top you will enjoy a wonderful view on the surrounding nature. Back on board, we will serve a coupe de champagne and a 4-course dinner prepared by our Chef especially for you.

Visit of les Salins in 4x4 - Cruise to Gallician

Sunday or Wednesday

In the morning, we will be off for a three-hour ride in the magic environment of the Salins. Driven in a 4×4 with a local guide, you will discover inaccessible places, flora and fauna. Your guide will explain to you the story of a 1000 years old industry. A moment you will never forget. The Chef will be waiting to serve a light lunch al fresco, weather depending. Then, you can rest on board or bike to the beach before the hotel barge starts its cruise on the Canal du Rhône à Sète around 5PM. This waterway was built to connect the Rhone River and the Atlantic Ocean through the Canal du Midi. Here you will find the wildest and best-preserved part of the Camargue region, which is also one of Europe’s largest wetland reserves. The final destination is the small village of Gallician planted in the largest “Roselière” of Europe to spend a night in the idyllic French countryside.

Daytrip in CAMARGUE - Cruise to SAINT-GILLES

Monday or Thursday

In the morning, you can cycle to the Scamandre Regional Nature Reserve (less than 3 km) to walk around freshwater marshes and discover the birds of Camargue. Meadows, sansouire (saline scrub), reed beds and ponds provide a variety of environments conducive to the faunistic and floristic diversity typical of a Mediterranean wetland. Then you can climb the Costières and discover magnificent wine estates or simply stop at the Gallician cooperative cellar who produce excellent wines. After a light lunch prepared by your Chef, you will navigate the Canal du Rhône à Sète till Saint-Gilles, famous for its pilgrimage developed since the 11th century. In the afternoon, it will be time to explore the heart of the Camargue territory! You will visit a typical bull and horse breeding farm whose approach is “Authentique et rustique“. The farm team will show you around and tell you about regional culture and traditions. You will have the opportunity to approach the animals, and even feed them! Quite impressive as you will see!
