Welcome and boarding – Visit of BEAUCAIRE and TARASCON


Around 3 pm, transfer to MAM GOZ in Beaucaire. After you settle down, you can rest on board or have the opportunity to discover Beaucaire and Tarascon. Situated on the Rhône River, Beaucaire was known worldwide for its fairs. Today it charms us with its castle dating from King Louis IX, quaint streets and lively quays. On the opposite bank, the majestic castle of Tarascon faces Beaucaire. It was an important place of pilgrimage to Sainte Marthe who according to the legend defeated the terrifying monster “La Tarasque”.

LES ALPILLES in the heart of PROVENCE - cruise to NOURRIGUIER


You will enjoy your first excursion with your guide in the steep hills in the heart of Provence: the Alpilles. In Saint-Rémy, you will discover a lovely Provencal village with its fashion boutiques and art galleries. Then, through the visit of the Moulin de Castelas, you will discover the true star of the Alpilles: the delicious olive oil. After a lunch at a restaurant on a typical small village square, you will visit Les Baux-de-Provence, a fortified medieval city with its winding small streets, shady terraces and imposing fortress. Then you will return to Beaucaire to navigate to the lock Nourriguier and spend the night in a quiet mooring surrounded by nature.

The morning begins with your guide by a visit to the famous Palais des Papes. Capital of the western Christian world in the fourteenth century, Avignon presents an exceptional set of monuments, beautiful squares, remarkable mansions, winding alleys and fashion boutiques. After lunch in a selected restaurant, you will continue to visit the beautiful city of Avignon with your guide. Then you will cruise along the Costières de Nîmes to Saint-Gilles, famous for its pilgrimage developed since the 11th century.

ARLES, an ancient roman city - cruise to GALLICIAN


How can the magic of Arles be explained? Does it come from the light that once so dazzled Van Gogh? The impressive architectural vestiges since Roman epoc that are the legacy of successive generations? You will find answers thanks to the comments of your guide during the visit of this marvelous city of Provence. You will also enjoy spending time in the outdoor market of Arles, typical from Provence, full of seasonal fruits, vegetables and herbs. Lunch will be taken in a typical restaurant. Then, you will navigate the Canal du Rhône à Sète and enjoy the wild and preserved Camargue, one of Europe’s largest wetlands reserve.

Daytrip in CAMARGUE - Cruise to AIGUES-MORTES


Welcome in the heart of Camargue’s Regional Natural Park! You will discover, with a private Nature Guide, the wildlife at the “Parc Ornithologique de Gau“. Ponds, swamps, channels, reed beds, all form this vast 60 hectare area, entirely devoted to the discovery of nature where you can observe birds’ life. For lunch, we will drive you to Les Saintes-Maries-de-la-Mer, a place of authentic tradition and gypsies’ pilgrimage. According to the season, you may enjoy swimming in the Mediterranean Sea. In the afternoon, back on board, comfortably installed on the upper deck, you will discover a part of the Camargue with its white horses and bulls living among the reeds and ponds. The balance is due 90 days before the start date of your cruise. Non paiement will be taken as cancellation. You can also book via your local travel agency. They can get in contact with us.
The route might be reversed without altering the quality of the cruise or implying any disturbance for our clients. If during the cruise a technical problem such as lock blocking, canal works, flooding or mechanical or technical problems with the barge, etc. would occur, we reserve the right to change the cruise route and propose alternatives without altering the quality and with mind the fully satisfaction of our clients.
Guests should be of reasonable fitness and agility suitable for a barging holiday.
