Welcome and boarding - VILLENEUVE-LEZ-AVIGNON
SATURDAY
Around 3 pm, transfer to the MAM GOZ tied up on the Rhône River in Villeneuve-Lez-Avignon. After you settle down, you can rest on board or visit, with your Tour Guide, la Chartreuse which is a Carthusian monastery founded in the 14th century. Then, it will be time for welcome champagne and drinks, meet the crew and learn more about your itinerary. We will have prepared a succulent meal, that our chef will serve after the special “mise en bouche”!
LUBERON, land of lavender - cruise to CHATEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE
SUNDAY
Departure for ISLE-SUR-LA-SORGUE known for its many antique shops and a beautiful Provencal Sunday market. It is a real pleasure to stroll in the alleys and along the canals that run along the Sorgue! This typical Provencal market invades the whole town with all kinds of products as seasonal fruits and vegetables, cold meats, cheeses… Visit of GORDES, classified among the most beautiful villages in France perched on its rock in the heart of LUBERON. Then stop at the Lavender Museum: exhibition and shopping of natural products. At the end of the day, cruise on the Rhône to the slopes of CHÂTEAUNEUF-DU-PAPE.
WINE TASTING - cruise to AVIGNON
MONDAY
CHATEAUNEUF DU PAPE, visit of the exhibition and tasting of the wines of La Maison Brotte at the origin of “La Fiole du Pape”, an astonishing cuvée mainly based on Grenache offered in its famous atypical bottle. Then, visit and tasting at Château Mont-Redon. The estate’s first vines date back to Roman times 2,000 years ago. Back on board the Mam Goz to sail on the Rhône to Avignon. Lunch on board during the cruise. Guided tour of the majestic Palais des Papes and Pont Saint Bénézet before a free visit of the city for shopping.
PONT DU GARD and DUCHY of UZES - cruise to ARAMON
TUESDAY
Canal barge cruise to Aramon after a last stroll in Avignon for shopping. Lunch on board. Visit of the “Pont du Gard”, majestic Roman aqueduct perfectly preserved for 2,000 years. It supplied drinking water to the Roman garrison in the city of Nîmes. On the way to UZES, the first duchy of France whose Ducal castle has belonged to the same family for more than 800 years. Uzès is a charming, well-restored Provencal town which retains all of its authenticity. You will appreciate its squares surrounded by arcades, its typical workshops and its beautiful medieval houses and old mansions.
LES ALPILLES in PROVENCE - cruise to VALLABREGUES
WEDNESDAY
Morning cruise to Vallabrègues. Walk in the beautiful Provencal village of Saint Rémy-de-Provence at the foot of the Alpilles with its squares and winding alleys where fashion boutiques, art gallery and artisans’ stalls nestle. In the afternoon, tasting at the Château Romanin which ages the wine in a cellar dug into the hill respecting the cycle of the moon. Then, you will meet the true star of the Alpilles: the delicious olive oil produced by the Moulin de Castelas. Visit of Les Baux-de-Provence, a fortified medieval city with its imposing fortress.
Cruise to ARLES – Visit of an ancient Roman city
THURSDAY
Cruise to Arles during which you will pass an impressive lock with a drop of 14m. Light lunch on board. Then, visit of Arles which has seduced painters like Van Gogh with its dazzling light which illuminates in a romantic tone the Roman remains that dot the city. Last purchases in the Provencal town of Arles. Traditional gala dinner on board or Gourmet Dinner in a 3-star restaurant in Provence (with supplement / option according to availability).
Transfer to airport or railway station

After breakfast transfer to the airport or railway station in Avignon.

After the visit of ARLES, return on board so that you can prepare for the gala dinner which will be served at L’OUSTEAU de BAUMANIERE, the 3-star restaurant in the heart of the Alpilles: elegance, sobriety, naturalness, respect and enhancement of products and especially vegetables are the common threads of the cuisine of the famous Chef Glenn VIEL.

BOOKING
Booking is very simple. You may contact Christel or Eric by mail: fluvialtour@outlook.fr or by phone in France: +33 659 587 589. To confirm your booking, you provide a deposit of 30% by bank transfer. This will be taken as an acceptance of terms and sales conditions. The balance is due 90 days before the start date of your cruise. Non paiement will be taken as cancellation. You can also book via your local travel agency. They can get in contact with us.
REMARKS The route might be reversed without altering the quality of the cruise or implying any disturbance for our clients. If during the cruise a technical problem such as lock blocking, canal works, flooding or mechanical or technical problems with the barge, etc. would occur, we reserve the right to change the cruise route and propose alternatives without altering the quality and with mind the fully satisfaction of our clients.
Guests should be of reasonable fitness and agility suitable for a barging holiday.
